I see folk are still getting ripped to bits by divil dugs;

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-29309358

Fortunatley (if such a thing can be so), in this case, it was not an innocent child or passer by, but the owner.

I thought we as a country banned them years ago?

The legislation got it the wrong way round - they allowed the dogs to be euthanised but not the owners.

Like many folk I been around dogs all my life. I like border collies best but I've had labs and spaniels. I can say one thing about all the dogs I've had, and I extend this to all breeds, you can never, ever trust them 100%.
To think otherwise is foolish, particularly when babies or children are involved.

I watched a programme about this a few weeks back about this, and apparently, they allow people to keep them if they are ok'd as sensible owners by police, RSPCA , SSPCA etc!! I was quite surprised by this, and watched in disbelief when they let  a completely inappropriate owner keep her TWO american Pit bull dogs!!

The mind boggles Shocked

I've had dogs all my life and can honestly say the vast majority of dogs are trustworthy but only if you treat them well and set the usual blu dries from the time they are pups.

Problems nowadays seems to be chavs having huge dogs without any idea how to control them and unfortunately when things go wrong with some of these breeds they are so big and powerful the outcome isn't good

Time they were treated the same way as cars.  You need a drivers licence to say that you are competent to handle one, an annual "tax" to keep it, and registration.  If you stray from the law, you lose your licence.  Simples.

Just like with cars, the bigger the dog, the more the annual tax disc.  Little yappy things that keep old widows company, but barely have the ability to worry a midgie can have a low annual licence to reflect their owners pension.  Chavs who want a Rottweiler will have to find a few grand a year to tax them.

Penalty points for every turd left lying on a pavement.  12 points and you lose your licence, and your dog.

Well in your utopian society my 7 labs would be out on their ears. And as they never go in town turds aren't a problem but I'm more than happy to post you a few instead of paying a licence fee

I've met rags dogs, and believe me you wouldn't want them waking you up round midnight. I must say though after the initial exited hellos (when I calmed down) they were great! Certainly no probs with 'rules, boundries and limitations' there!!

If only they could say the same for me!!! Did you get the red wine stain oot of yer floor??!!! Embarassed

Right, so making that posting was indeed a mistake.  The dogs did indeed arrive about the back of midnight.  Not sure about being trained ninja labs, but they ate the hens breakfast, crapped on the flat roof and shagged the caddy lamb (which is not much of a lamb anymore....)

"All the men came out with spades and golf clubs trying to get the dogs off. "

if the men had time to run in and grab the paedo lynch mob tools they keep in the porch then there's no way their stay at home unemployable jammie wearing wimmin didn't come running out with their phones

WHERE'S THE FOOTAGE ?!

Being exceedingly unemployable myself I would still be in negotiations with Titbits magazine allowing them exclusive rights to my crap video coverage. As I am also a stay at home wifey, well, of course I wear jammies 24 hours a day, postie doesn't seem to mind and the neighbours are too far up their own arses to notice.
