Never a dull moment in this politics game!

i'm planning to change my name to Feckless and stand as the story party candidate in the same constituency as nigel forage.
orkneycadian

Interesting to read that the feckless Reckless managed to run a "referendum" in his constituency to canvass the opinion of his constituents on EU membership.  All without the palaver that surrounded the Scottish neverendum, and probably at a tiny fraction of the cost.

Oh, and 80% of his respondents wanted to give the finger to Brussels.  His turn out was not exactly high though....

Why should the fact he photographed his privates, and sent to anyone, effect the way he works? presumably the reporter was a consenting adult, whom i would imagine coaxed him to send a picture or pictures of his knob etc!!!

I'm not sure if 'THAT' newspaper employs adults, unless they're foreigners, much of what they print is senseless shite.
It doesn't seem right , to me, that journalists are allowed to 'pose' as someone or something when they're trying to fiil blank columns in a paper. MPs are only human, we all make mistakes, of course he could still do his job and it's time for the'establishment' to lighten up and move into the real world where we all do daft stuff.
When I finish my morning shift I stop for a pee outside the shed door..

So Reckless has 'crossed the floor', no, sorry he can't do that as UKIP hasn't got any MP's!.

In the last General Election there were 572 candidates, and UKIP polled 3.1% with no seats gained.

So have I got this right? if one wants to get out of Europe, then vote next election for UKIP? All they have to do is gain a majority in the House of Commons! Not a hope in hell, but it won't stop quite a few voting for 'em in the vain hope that somehow a miracle will happen and UKIP will romp home with a massive victory and we'll be out of Europe.
Nah, all it'll mean is that those Conservatives casting their vote to UKIP will weaken the Tories and Labour will come flying through between them.
There is going to be an In/out vote with the Conservatives, Labour don't want it. So ain't it basically that if one votes for UKIP it'll be Labour in power and no chance of an exit from EU, whereas vote for cons and there is a hope that getting out may happen.
But Reckless did say "the Prime Minister is offering a vote on EU membership on "rigged terms," based on a "bogus renegotiation followed by a loaded referendum". Gosh!
Although methinks that Cameron may have underestimated the dept of feeling by the UK populace to actually get out - no doubt he thought that by letting the EU know that there WAS a possibility of exiting that the EU would fall over themselves to hang onto us? nothing yet it seems.. "
Be a laugh when that by-election comes round on October 9th and Reckless stands as UKIP, and some unknown Tory gets elected! (Well they did have near 10,000 majority in 2010).
orkneycadian

The best it can do is make those aspiring to be elected in, sit up with a serious offer on a in/out referendum, and the balls to back up what the outcome of that is.
RagnarRocks

Reality is the general public are quite sick of Europe for the majority even up here in bonnie Scotland UKIP have made inroads. Reality is though unless there's a conservative government we are well and truly stuck with the EU. UKIP a nice idea but not got the clout to win a general election

isn't the previous tory to join ukip still an mp?

i think ukip will do much better in the 2015 election, and there is the ukip fear factor that might push cameron further to the right in order to placate not only his right wing backbenchers but also his more right-leaning tory voters.

it's a complicated game and forage is an expert at playing it.

I think too that the Torys will move further to the right, 'cos of this. But I thought Douglas Carswell resigned his seat and will stand for UKIP at the Clacton by-election on the 9th October, suppose he does not represent his constituents? So basically he's not a UKIP MP?
orkneycadian

Well, he got voted in, whoever he represents.  UKIPs first MP.

More revealing is UKIPs very close second in the previously safe labour seat of Heywood and Middleton.
ducati

That will give the nats an attack of the vapours. Coming to a Facebook page near you! Very Happy

isn't that splodge land? she should get her own house in order before telling scotland how to vote.  Evil or Very Mad

The strange thing is I've been a lifelong Conservative suporter and I know that the views expressed by UKIP and derised by the left in politics, actually reflects what you hear every day in factories, building sites and taxis across the land. Talk about being disconected from your voters Mr Milliband (if that is your real name).
cait

it's not ed's fault that some of his people are ignorant.

how come you only hear that small subset of the population?
RagnarRocks

Mr Muppet Milliband is a favourite of the North London Luvvies Brigade but has no connection with people who work for a living, the mans been force fed ultra left wing nonsense since he was born by his parents and for all his desires has never done an actual days work in his life.

Please can you tell me this, was pre-politician Muppmill a foreign boxer by trade?

The Pro-EU parties are left with a lot of egg on their faces now that the true cost of staying in Europe is becoming apparent.  They cannot blame each other this time, as this spans all the governments of the last 20 years or so.

£1.7 billion is an eye watering amount of money to find before December the 1st.  And virtually all of it will be shared out between France and Germany.

It completely beggars belief that after so many years of dire warnings of what staying in the EU would do for us, that our governments have not acted to get the hell out of it before now.  What is even more scary is that the YeSNP wanted to get us back in again!

But, and this is an even scarier thought...  The 1.7 billion quid would amount to just 0.1% of the UK's national debt.  And folk think the EU bill is bad....
cait

the answer for you islanders is obvious. become independent and leave the eu.

why don't you do it?
mrsbradey

Hmmmm! I wonder?

So cait you now admit you are picking on someone whom you believe to be weak and feeble and an easy target for your bigoted cynicism !!

That, in my book, correct me if I'm wrong, makes you nothing more than a common

The beauty of it is totally enjoy being obnoxious to you and I'm gleefully awaiting the day as promised that you tell me all this to my face.
orkneycadian

Yay!

Even Angela Merkel agrees that the UK would be better off out of the EU!

Sensible folk those Germans....

Right, bollocks to a referendum in 2017.  With a bit of luck, Cameron can get us out by Christmas.  Then, he can save himself a pasting by UKIP in next years elections.  In fact, Farage and UKIP would become as superfluous as the SNP, and could retire, leaving the way clear for David Cameron.
orkneycadian

Well done George Osborne!  Getting the £1.7 billion EU "bill" down to jusst 2 times £850 million!  A stroke of genius!  Not....

So thats still roughly half each to France and Germany.  They must be rollig around the floor this morning not believing their luck, and wondering what they can spend UK money on!  Mad

Another by election success for sanity I see!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-30140747

If Rochester and Strood was 271 on UKIP's hit list, it doesn't say a lot for the chances of the other parties for the other 270....
susie

As ye said right at the start OC, Vive le UKIP! I find this hugely entertaining.
RagnarRocks

I find it rather amusing that the SNP don't really acknowledge the existence of UKIP  it there's a third of the population up here concerned about Immigration. Give it time ukip will be a force to be reckoned with throughout the UK .

What Left?

They left years ago.

There is no Left.

Just a soundbite to scare Daily Mail readers.

If there was a Left Alex Salmond would have been laughed out of the building years ago.
cait

a lot of splodge's lot are left. they're an extreme left lot.
RagnarRocks

If you take a look around the media are for the most part left leaning, most of the civil service and NHS tend to lean left as well. As a society we are constantly bombarded with left leaning propaganda but anything veering to the right is labelled and quashed .
If you watch the electioneering in the coming months you'll see the conservatives constantly given labels I.E the nasty party etc by labour or their policies labelled I.E the bedroom tax which the media will churn over and over. The reality is society tends to veer left then right then settle in the middle for a while. Fundamentally we tend to be more liberal than either left or right wing but that doesn't suit the major powers and there isn't a party that truly sits in the middle ground comfortably
cait

many of splodge's women for indy lot are extreme lefties.
mrsbradey

Having met some of them at one of her lesbian meetings I can confirm they were all to the west of left!!!!
RagnarRocks

That comes as no surprise what so ever but they think it is fine and dandy to infiltrate organisations such as the NHS and presume to run parts of them as quasi political organisations. I've no doubt all these emergency situations called recently in hospitals are as a result of political decisions being made to embarrass the governement as opposed to a real crisis.
