Snow driving

Comparing snow driving with 4x4 and modern car. Unless it is very deep, the modern repmobile (the little car that could, parp parp) with traction control and ABS is actually better.  Shocked

You can have every driving aid known to man, but it won't cure shit driving!!

Well, it does to a certain extent. If you mash your foot on the brake or throttle, you don't get the response you deserve. Laughing

I've generally found its the idiots around me on the road that have caused me to get stranded on occasion. Or the road getting closed for the sake of 2" of the dreaded white stuff.

Had most success in snow deep or slush with my old faithful diesel Golf with winter studded tyres. The 4x4 I have now is ok when it is in 4wd but if you hit a patch of ice its not the best in the world or a slight covering on the road in 2wd you can forget it the back end will overtake you in no time at all.

I enjoyed driving in what was left of the snow on some back roads today!!

I spotted a bonny, bonny E36 323 coupe on its side on the causewaymire after new year, shame I had long admired that car the guy kept it in beautiful condition.

I noticed a Vauxhaul Corsa in a field between Bower and Castletown, looked like it had been parked in a hurry!!  Embarassed

Well its that time of year again!!

Recently purchased a rwd with massive petrol ⛽ engine, don't think it will be a big problem this year though 😆
MI16

what did you go for, merc, bmw, lexus?

I have a 4be4 pickup with chunky BFG AT rubber, surely Mrs Mi will keep it on the tar this year

I don't actually know what size the engine is as it started life as a 200ci 6 cylinder. It has 289 badges in suspiciously correct place but this suggested to me that the wings came from a 289 car. The motor is a tight fit so is pos bigger. I've not had chance to check the numbers yet.
mrsbradey

mrsbradey

I'm pretty sure you'll find out that the motor is a good one even if it is only a 289ci, as it seems to have some bolt on tuning goodies! :-)

Looks Solid enough
Did you import it or buy from UK
When was it last on the road.

I really must get a toy again
ducati

Looks like was last on Road in usa in 1980. It was tagged in California. Built at the San Jose assembly plant. Hasn't stopped it rusting though.😃 bought it locally in Caithness, just a lucky find.
ducati

It's a good one to find because it isn't an important or particularly desirable car you can go nuts on the upgrades without guilt.

Yes house build took over time so is now done but I never got it on road. It's been a couple of years so it will undoubtedly need looking at again.😌
