Positively Happy Thread

I'm positive I'm happy and I've started a thread. I'm banning to the centre of the earth anyone who puts a negative bit on here. I'm off to write a sweet little ditty about how I love our notorg and us notorgers, it may be to the tune of All the things bright and beautiful, so get your vocal chords tuned up and lubricated.
Apologies to ducati, I should have written 'lubed'.
cait

yes let's all be happy while this forum is still running. it'll be comatose within a couple of months unless it expands now. its honeymoon period has ended, the novelty is wearing off.

don't believe me? just watch patiently as it slows ...

i know, i'm jumping in early with this one. that's because i've seen it happen many times before, and i'd prefer not to see history repeat itself at a rate of 100%.

mr admin, you can take my advice, you can ignore it or you can silence me. it's your choice, let's see if you're made of something stronger than the fernies.

you need to create a team with a vision to run this place or it will erode away.

does anyone have the drive or the vision to take this site forwards? we'll see. or not.
cait

ps i'm being positive. the head-in-sand strategy is the negative one.
Jax

I'm sure, Cait, admin is open to all suggestions of promotion & expertise of how to do it.

I'll start with a suggestion, how's about everyone tries to get a couple of new members each?

The site is in the process of getting indexed to Google etc, which should make it easier to find.
RagnarRocks

In business there are only two ways you can go expand or decline there's no such thing as standing still.
Mr Admin time to engage your warp thrusters
admin

Warp thrusters on, check!

We are open to suggestions, its YOUR forum, go out there and sell it!

As jax pointed out we are in the process of being indexed, which should make the site more visible.

But it will only be visible to people looking!

Admin.
cait

i must admit that i haven't tried very hard to sell it to people i know on the org.

but my point here is that much needs to be done to make it attractive. right now it looks like a million other phpbb forums. a photo of caithness at the top of the page would at the very least give it a sense of identity.
susie

Sing to the tune of All things bright and beautiful, or not...

(chorus)
It's great fun posting on notorg
there's lots of threads to read
be jolly and pleasant if you like
or blunt if you feel the need.

There's Ragnars Rambling Rant spot
and ducati's Drag Strip is great
there's history, news and games
and bits of trolling from our cait!

repeat chorus and bugger off.
cait

here's how well we are doing:

Quote:
Most users ever online was 16 on Fri Sep 12, 2014 7:19 pm

that was a month ago.

the last genuine new user (john little) was 21 september, i.e. three weeks ago.

since then we've had robert murray who probably isn't real and who hasn't posted anything anyway, and weelassagee whom i suspect we knew already.

it's already dying.  Crying or Very sad
cait

that's dying from standing still of course.

it's the slow form of death that creeps up on you before you notice.

it can be prevented, i hope!
Jax

How's about submit a picture suitable for the front page, then the members can vote & choose one?

I'll start a thread see what you guys can produce
cait

good idea!

guess what i was doing when i became interested in the size of caithness lochs!  Laughing

i thought this one looked good

http://www.ifimages.com/public/image/206723/view.html

it would cost cash, don't know how much.
Jax

It is a nice picture Cait

Have you taken any snaps of your own?
cait

mine are rubbish.  Sad

i was looking for inspiration rather than an actual photo.

i like the idea of loch more with scaraben in the background. they're kind of iconic and the photo conveys the idea of the wide open spaces of caithness.

We could start a facebook page with a link to this site and Twitter feed. It just so happens I have a Caithness Community facebook page lurking with nothing on it at the moment which could be used for the promotion

I was wondering if anyone would mention our very own transgender troll.
Takes all sorts to make a world maybe it and  Chordie Sleverer will become acquainted and they can have troll babies !
cait

the transgender troll was as subtle as a brick. if i guessed who it was from their first post, then the fernies will have figured it out rather quickly. well, maybe not.  Laughing

i keep my unexploded devices undetected for a lot longer than that.  Cool

i believe chordie and the weelassagee have been acquainted since, well, since forever.   Laughing

This thread is Positively Happy. Would anyone like to post a positive happy message or idea?

I'm considering starting a Negatively Miserable thread so that anyone who is can go there.

Paddington Bear arrived this day 56 years ago. To celebrate this most auspicious anniversary why not have marmalade for every meal?

Marmalade is sunshine in a jar, think of those beautiful oranges ripening in the hot, Spanish sun. Then shipped to bonny Scotland and boiled up here for us to eat. Love it.

Admin could do worse than delete the various spoof profiles that appeared in the early days.  They have served their purposed, if there ever was one, and don't do a lot for credibility.

Are you blind ducati? Can you not see the big black stick resting on the edge of the photo Rolling Eyes
mrsbradey

I imagine the 'stick' serves more than one purpose, I bet its useful in the local shop for proddin' folkies oot 'e road!!! Wink

Precarious balancing of 'the' stick and the corpulent baggy from Tesco (BASH, BASH), plus photo edge of course. Sal's button is about 2 inches below her bumhole. I can promise you an exciting time as she 'shakes, rattles and rolls' if it gets pressed, normally I don't pimp on her behalf but she suggests a six pack of Pedigree Chum if you want to go ahead. Give her a call on the dog and bone. Oh hell, this is killing me. Very Happy

You are exactly right about the stick, blimey what a multifunctional device it is. I even use it to prop meself up when I'm not on me bike. I daren't take it in the shop because I would probably beat the living daylights out of all the Tesco managers who ponce around poking things on shelves and that stupid sod on the checkout who piles stuff up after she's scanned it so you can't get at the tins to put them in the bottom of your bag, bloody hell fire need I go on?
susie

Sorry, so sorry. I forgot this was the happy thread!
On a more positive and happy note.........
The sun is shining.
I'm taking tha dogs for a happy, sunny walk round tbe fields.
ducati

Yes threw the ball endlessly this afternoon for wee Fenn in the garden whilst drinking a very large bottle of cheap cider. He eventually got so hot he had to go and jump in the pond to cool off. I got so drunk I nearly jumped in after him.  Shocked
