Malt Whisky, whats your Top Tipple?

In light of The King of Orkney's declaration of the enforcement of prohibition of Gin drinking in his kingdom,

"Shame on you.  You should be drinking Old Pulteney (or Highland Park / Scapa if the taste of Old Pulteney is not to your liking  Wink )".    His Royal Majesty King Orkneycadian, said yesterday.

He went on to add,  "Then you won't need any expensive mixers, and could, if you dared blaspheme, always add some peaty Caithness Flow water to it if required at no cost"!

As we will all be forced to drink Malt Whisky instead, which one would you favour, and why?

Favourite Malt Whisky.

My favourite is Jura, in particular jura superstition. It is nice and smooth with a lasting honey finish.

I like Laphroaig, its a proper west coast malt, not that I drink it much these days.

Jura is a juice for the babbies bottle or a warm up

Why, thank you!  Its always good to know that your posts are appreciated!

Regards the whisky, it depends if you are in the mood for smoky or smooth.  For general session drinking, Bells and grouse respectively do just fine.

But for single malts, you have a hard job to beat the Blackadder raw cask bottlings of Caol Ila and Glenturret respectively.  OK, so the Caol Ila is like chowing a smouldering peat off the fire, but its very distinctive!  The Glenturret meanwhile is very smooth, even at cask strength.

Must say, i too like a Glrenturret. Very Happy

Does ginsy winsy count?

I like Beefeater best but that rotten shite Tesco shop stopped selling it. Can't stand Gordon's, he should keep it to himself, and the other stuff I can't afford just now. I am reduced to drinking tonic water and imagining I have put a drop of gin in. Woe is me.

So what does raggyboy drink? no doubt it will be Buckfast or White Lightning with him trying to "fit in" to the Scottish way of life :-)

As for my tipple i do like an Old Pulteney now and again, Jura too and most of the island single malts. Glen Grant was one i drank often but it went to export only. Xmas time used to present me with a bottle of Glenfiddich or the occasional Glenmorangie. All devoured with appropriate feeling and appreciation :-)

Of a normal day I tend not to drink, when I have young Mrs Bradey over then the odd bottle of nice red wine will do nicely.
If spirits are to be quaffed then I enjoy most of them except whisky.
