CIRCUS----Wild Animals Ban.

What do you think about this?
Should the Scottish Government ban wild animals in circuses?

I think they should and it's long overdue.
I have never liked circuses or zoos. Wild animals belong in the wild and in their own countries.
I'm no happy about the so-called safari parks we have either.

I agree susie,

Wild animals 'performing' in circuses and shows should be banned, and condemd to history.

There are plenty of 'domesticated' animals that man can exploit if they must!!

I have never been a fan of zoos either, however i accept that he can be agood tool in species regeneration and for educational purposes.!

You may be right but I thnk nowadays we could help even more by regenerating in the place the animals belong. I'm not really convinced by the educational side of the argument. There are stacks of animals in every country that can be learnt about. I don't know about you, but I've never found anything useful about giraffes or hippos

Again I can't disagree with you on any point you mention, I prefer to see Hippos and Giraffes etc through the lens of a TV camera in their own habitat. When you see them on TV in zoos and safari parks, they always seem so depressed.

I think banning the keeping of wild animals in these prisons for public spectacle should be seriously considered!

I might write to someone in the Gov about it. Who would be best do you think?
I've an idea it was the Lochead chap who suggested it but I'm not sure.

You need safe places to regenerate at risk populations. The natural habitat is not safe because of people.

I agree to with ducati, the problem with most at risk animals is if they are left in their countries of origin they would go extinct

I agree, but could they not set up more secure reserves in the nearest safe country, atleast then the climate would be less depressing for them.

Giraffes standing out in the shitty UK weather can't be good for their moral.

Man sure is a bastard when it comes to living alongside nature, and a Greedy Bastard at that!!   Evil or Very Mad
