Building the Perfect Politician

I know it's dreamworld, but worthy of a whirl I hope.

My number 1 requirement is that it should be a man and an older man at that.
I'm not dismissing women but I have always believed that women are the best supporters and best steerers.
Number 2. My perfect politician must be at least 60.  I don't like young politicians as they know nothing. I know that I knew nothing about life and society and other people until I was well into my thirties and I have only started to realise the importance of certain things and how parts of life fit together in my fifties.
I remember when all the main politicians were, or seemed to be older men and possibly near or past retirement age. Wisdom and sagacity comesonly with age, in my opinion.
I am prepared to be shot down so don't be holding back!

If I had a gun I'd shoot the politicians instead.
Jax

Ha, that's probably the best plan Fred!

I think it should be a woman as if you want anything done, you'd best ask a woman, a busy one at that.

Well, yes, some might say we had the perfect politician in the top job during the eighties.

And indeed it was a WOMAN!

some may not agree, but she (quite) literally 'stuck to her guns', instead of the modern way of trying to please everyone, to win praise and votes!!
ducati

Yes, I remember her fondly. Sorted out the Ruskys, sorted out the Argies, sorted out the Unions. Have I missed anyone out.. Ooh pissed off the Scots too.  Very Happy
Mike

Tell you what though, SHE wouldn't have taken any shite from those tossers across the channel would she...

(I'm not sure I spelt channel right but just in-case I'm not on about the perfume).

It's the Scottish problem

Should politicians be allowed to have strange hair do you think?
Should they be allowed to pretend to care about all us Ordinaries?
After all, what they really care about is keeping their job and getting re-elected always aiming for the TOP job so they can live in luxurious laps for the rest of their days. When politicians were ancient old buggers it wasn't as bad giving them a big pension for life. These days they all seem to be about 40 so they have a potential 40 year pension if they get to be PM. I'm not the only one on here with no pension to look forward to AND having worked the fingers to the bone too.
